From a crazy new Gargantaur to some awesome new plants, The Springening is bringing some awesome new cards for you to snag in Plants vs. Zombies Heroes this year! We can't wait to see the new decks you'll be taking to the lawn, with these cards.
Here's a look at the new cards coming into PvZ Heroes with the Springening:
Hippity-Hop Gargantaur
- Crazy Class
- 5 Brainz
- 6 Strength / 4 Health
- When hurt: Make a Mystery Egg in a random lane.
- Mystery Egg:
- 0 Strength / 2 Health
- Start of Tricks: This transforms into a random Zombie that costs 2 Brainz or less.
- Mystery Egg:
Strategy Tips
- Hippity Hop Gargantuar is a powerful version of the popular Imp-Throwing Gargantuar. Instead of making 1/1 Imps when hurt, it makes Mystery Eggs that can transform into powerful 2-cost Zombies like Sumo Wrestler and Regifting Zombie.
- Playing Gargologist on turn 2 makes all Gargantuars cost 2 less, so you can play the 6/4 Hippity Hop Gargantuar on turn 3.
- Besides being a Gargantuar, it’s actually a Pet Zombie as well, on account of its adorable Bunny Suit. So Electric Boogaloo can combine Hippity Hop Gargantuar with Pet lords like Cat Lady and Zookeeper.
- Combine Hippity Hop with effects that do 1 damage to all Zombies, like Fireworks Zombie and Barrel of Deadbeards, to get lots of free Mystery Eggs.
- Try to play Hippity Hop Gargantuar in the rightmost lane. That way, if he gets hurts, he will create a Mystery Egg in another lane to the left, which has already fought this turn. That means the Mystery Egg will be able to hatch next turn instead of just getting destroyed before it hatches.
Lily of the Valley
- Mega-Grow Class
- 2 Sun
- 1 Strength / 3 Health
- When you play another Plant on the Heights, that plants gets +2/+2.
Strategy Tips
- Lily of the Valley on turn 2 lets you set up a powerful turn 3, since you can play a turn 3 Plant on the Heights and give it an immediate boost of +2/+2.
- There are lots of Plants that are especially good when pumped up. For example, Repeater or Bananasaurus Rex attack twice a turn, so they can use Lily of the Valley’s +2/+2 boost twice a turn.
- Strikethrough Plants also often hit twice a turn, since they hit the opposing Zombie and the Zombie Hero. So boosting Strikethrough Plants with Lily of the Valley lets you use that boost twice as well.
- Team-Up is another powerful way to get the Lily of the Valley bonus twice. For example, if you play Lily of the Valley on turn 3, you can play both Repeater and Torchwood on the Heights on turn 4. They both get boosted by Lily of the Valley, and Torchwood boosts Repeater. This means you end up with a 2/5 Torchwood in front of a 6/4 Repeater that attacks twice, doing 14 damage in the heights on turn 4!
Snake Grass
- Smarty Class
- 4 Sun
- 3 Strength / 2 Health
- Amphibious
- Start of Turn: Make another Snake Grass in the lane to the right.
Strategy Tips
- This powerful plant can make a whole army of 3/2 Plants with one card.
- Play Snake Grass as far to the left as you can, to give it room to spawn lots of Snake Grass copies to the right.
- The longer you can protect Snake Grass, the more copies it will make. In Smarty, you can use Team-Up Plants like Shellery and Navy Bean to protect Snake Grass. If you use Citron to combine Smarty and Guardian Plants, you can use Wall-Nut and other Guardian Team-Up Plants to protect Snake Grass and give it time to grow.
- If you use Green Shadow to combine Mega-Grow and Smarty Plants, you can use Mega-Grow effects like Fertilize, Plant Food, and Sweet Potato to protect Snake Grass even more!
