Le Mans Spotlight: Dempsey Proton Racing

Dempsey Proton Racing makes its debut in both the Le Mans GTE Pro class at the 2016 24 Hours of Le Mans, as well as in Real Racing 3.

2016 will be the second season for Dempsey Proton Racing in the FIA. Michael Christensen, Philipp Eng and Richard Lietz will be piloting the number 77 Porsche 911 RSR in the upcoming endurance race around the Circuit des 24 Heures

Lietz was previously crowned World Endurance Champion for GT drivers in 2015 in which he won three races, and came second in two others finishing the season with 145 points. Christensen finished third overall with 127 points. Both drove for Porsche Team Manthey in 2015.

Patrick Dempsey, Co-Owner of Dempsey Proton Racing, first competed in the 2009 24 Hours of Le Mans, and in 2013-15. Along with co-drivers, Patrick Long, and Marco Seefried, Dempsey qualified fifth and finished second in the LM GTE Am class in the 2015 24 Hours of Le Mans. Dempsey has since stepped back from a driver role in the team citing family and acting commitments, however he continues as Team Co-Owner.

Dempsey Proton Racing currently sits third on the LM GTE Pro team ladder behind Ford Chip Gannasi Team UK in second, and AF Corse in first. They placed sixth in their class at the Six Hours of Silverstone, and fourth in their class at the Six Hours of Spa-Francorchamps.

The No.77 Porsche 911 RSR (2016) is just one of five new cars available this update, including the Ford GT LM, and the Ferrari 488 GTE.
