Player Ratings Update: Conference Championship Round

See how huge performances from superstars like Aaron Rodgers and Derrick Henry have affected their Madden ratings.

Madden NFL 20

Madden NFL 20 cover athlete Patrick Mahomes led his team to one of the most unlikely comebacks in playoff history, climbing out of a 24-0 deficit against the Houston Texans to win by a 20-point margin, 51-31, as the Chiefs earned a berth in their second consecutive AFC Title game. Lamar Jackson’s MVP-worthy season came to an abrupt end as his Ravens were defeated by the Titans. And Aaron Rodgers piloted his Packers offense to a hard-earned victory over the Seahawks.

Now it’s time to get down to business and highlight some of the biggest risers and fallers in the Madden NFL 20 ratings ahead of the Conference Championship Round based on what went down in NFL stadiums across the country last weekend. And remember, the Madden Ratings Adjustors are always watching. Access the full Madden NFL 20 Player Ratings Database HERE.

Conference Championship Round Risers

Aaron Rodgers | QB | Green Bay Packers

Coming off a two-TD, 243-yard game, Aaron Rodgers and his Packers are headed to the Conference Championship Round this weekend against the San Francisco 49ers. The Green Bay signal caller had a shaky end to his regular season and hasn’t seen a ratings increase in Madden NFL 20 since Week 8, when he was bumped up to a 91 OVR. Since, he’s slipped a few times but has a real chance to finish his season on a positive note. He made a couple of clutch throws in the fourth quarter against Seattle to seal his team’s victory and kill the clock, suggesting he’s still one of the elite QBs in the NFL and in Madden.

Derrick Henry | RB | Tennessee Titans

King Henry did it again. The NFL’s regular season rushing leader, Derrick Henry hung another 200+ scrimmage yards on the Baltimore Ravens in an upset victory last weekend. Oh by the way, he threw a touchdown pass on a trick play in the first half. The big back exploded through huge holes at the line of scrimmage and took advantage of his team’s second-half lead, eventually propelling the Titans to the Conference Championship Round against the Kansas City Chiefs this coming weekend.

According to Graham Barfield of NFL.com, Henry has recorded some historic numbers over the course of his last eight games with a 203-1,273-11 line. Henry’s in line for yet another bump in his Madden ratings as the Titans keep rolling.

Marquise Brown | WR | Baltimore Ravens

Closing out his rookie season in style, Marquise Brown posted a 7-126-0 line in the Ravens’ playoff loss to the Titans. Brown was targeted 11 times in the game, his highest mark since Week 2. And while it wasn’t enough to help his team win, Brown put on a show including this highlight-reel one-handed grab in traffic in the first half:

It might have been Brown’s final game of his rookie campaign, but something tells us we’ll be seeing a lot more of Hollywood and Lamar Jackson hooking up for explosive plays for years to come.

Conference Championship Round Fallers

Demarcus Robinson | WR | Kansas City Chiefs

Fortunately for Chiefs fans, Demarcus Robinson’s drop-plagued Sunday didn’t result in disappointment for his team. Though early on, it didn’t look good. Robinson was targeted four times against the Texans but managed to catch just a single pass for 25 yards. He blatantly dropped a couple of very catchable balls, and they were hard to unsee. Thus, Robinson is due for a downtick in his Madden rating ahead of the Conference Championship Round. The silver lining? Robinson has another opportunity to right the ship this weekend.

Tre Flowers | CB | Seattle Seahawks

Seattle’s second-year corner, Tre Flowers, had a tough assignment on Sunday night, covering Packers WR Davante Adams. Spoiler alert: Flowers did not do his job very well. Adams exited the game with and 8-160-2 line, setting a Packers record for most receiving yards in a playoff game. Flowers was beat on a 20-yard TD completion early in the first quarter and was toasted again on a 40-yard catch and run into the end zone. Yikes. Flowers didn’t do much this season to positively or negatively affect his Madden rating, but he ends the season on this sour note.
