The worldwide launch of Star Wars™: Galaxy of Heroes is almost upon us and we've taken a moment to pick the brains of some of our game team members to uncover which characters they'd add to their ultimate team. This is just a small glimpse at the breadth of characters that will be in the game at launch. To deliver this massive selection of characters, we've had to remove ships from the game, but we think players will love the strategy, selection, and surprises we have in store. We're looking forward to getting this game in your hands, taking your feedback and delivering a game that evolves over time with the Star Wars universe.
1. Obi-Wan Kenobi
As huge fans of Star Wars™: Episode IV: A New Hope™, we had to include the original Obi-Wan Kenobi, also known as Old Ben Kenobi. With the power of the Force™, Obi-Wan can use his Jedi mind trick to block all special abilities of the opposing party.
2. Asajj Ventress
With one of the strongest AOE’s in the game plus an ability to remove positive enemy buffs to heal herself, Asajj is a highly satisfying dark side character to have in your squad! Played correctly, she can turn the tide of any battle, and in PvP, her play can turn a losing fight in to a victory.
3. Qui-Gon Jinn
Qui-Gon is great for controlling the turn-count on the battlefield. He’s not only a great supporter, but doubles as a good attacker when paired with a damage-oriented team. In PvP, he is great for getting both first turn advantage and keeping the momentum in your favor when matched with other Jedi.
4. Count Dooku
Extra attacks are always welcome and Dooku’s counterattack ability is his signature. In our game, Count Dooku’s attacks and powers are modeled to evoke his merciless and relentless tactics.
5. Boba Fett
Boba Fett is classic bounty hunter with a cult following, so the team took his jetpack to the next level. Fett’s special attack has him fly into the air while launching a devastating missile at his enemies for a powerful AOE attack with a chance to shut down their Special Abilities. As Star Wars™ fans, we are excited about having this character in game!
6. Old Daka
Old Daka’s abilities carry a number of random chance mechanics that can turn imminent defeat into assured victory. Additionally, the visual effects of her abilities adds a whole new air of mysticism that was otherwise non-existent outside of the Force.
7. Chewbacca
Chewbacca is one of the first starter characters players will find in Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes, and we’ve specifically made him the Star Wars: The Clone Wars version by giving him a golden bowcaster.
While he may be a loveable character from the Star Wars universe Chewie is also a powerful tank. His roar taunts enemies into focusing their attacks on him, while his other abilities allow him to boost his team’s defense, heal himself and fire powerful bowcaster shots at enemies.
8. Darth Sidious
As a powerful dark side leader, Darth Sidious has one of the coolest effects for his Demoralizing Blows special power. Watching both of his Lightsabers™ cut a swath of molten earth on his way to a devastating attack would shake the most stalwart opponent!
9. Jawa
Jawas collect and sell Droids™ in the films, so we’ve given our Jawa a unique special attack that stuns enemy Droids while damaging all other enemy units. As the Jawa gets upgraded, his single shot attack becomes incredibly powerful, making him a great asset to any team fighting off groups of Droids.
10. Ahsoka Tano
Ahsoka Tano (aka “Snips”) was Anakin’s Padawan in Star Wars: The Clone Wars. She’s a formidable opponent with her dual Lightsabers, and also a powerful healer that can boost the health of her team and herself to help players get out of tricky situations.
