SOMOS EA ("We are EA"), the Hispanic / Latinx Employee Resource Group at Electronic Arts (EA), recently partnered with Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Service (RAICES) to support the U.S. immigrant & refugee community – reflecting EA’s commitment to build a more diverse and inclusive environment in the video gaming industry.
We at Electronic Arts believe that equal treatment and protection as it relates to fundamental human rights apply to every person, regardless of race or ethnicity, gender, educational attainment, economic background or immigration status.
Yet, we know every day, human rights — including the basic right to live in safety and be treated equitably, are continually challenged around the globe. As such, SOMOS EA has partnered with RAICES, a not-for-profit organization in North America on the national frontlines of the fight for migrant human rights.
This year in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, here are some ways you can support those in the Latinx/Hispanic community:
We invite you to stand in solidarity with us this #HHM and beyond, celebrating within your own communities the diverse cultures, backgrounds, and contributions that blend together, to create one powerful and united community worldwide.
Following the landmark United States Supreme Court decision in favor of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, RAICES launched the RAICES DACA Fund to ensure that every person currently eligible for DACA has access to protection from deportation, in addition to the continued legal representation, social services, and advocacy necessary to thrive.
In a time when our community and the world is overcome with so many feelings and emotion as we continue to witness unprecedented times. SOMOS EA stands in allyship with all of our players and pledge that we will continue to support the human rights of all communities, despite their backgrounds.
