Background
My name is Adrian, a graduate from the University of Bucharest having majored in Computer Science, and I am currently taking MSc courses in Software Engineering. I grew up in a small town near Bucharest and started my career in 2016 with EA as my very first job.
Getting Your Start with EA
I am a video game enthusiast; I have always dreamed about making them. In 2016, when I was a sophomore, I applied and was accepted for “Java Academy”, a long-term training course organized by EA Romania. In this program I learned and worked with teams that developed some of the biggest video games in the world. In fact, this was the step which brought me to the EA team and, for sure, one of the best decisions I have ever taken.
Working at EA
I started working at EA full of enthusiasm, and now, after more than four years working on FIFA, I feel like I get more and more enthusiastic every day. EA has been the perfect place for me to learn, build my personal career, discover new challenges daily, and, last but not least, have fun. The office is filled with talented and passionate individuals who are all working towards the same goal: to make great games! We work hard, but we also celebrate our successes and have real fun along the way. There are always new challenges around the corner, so it never gets boring. My favorite part is when I see with my eyes, that any change I make to the game, is enjoyed by millions of players around the globe.
EA’s Impact
In a few words, EA is where I grew up. The team has given me a great platform of professional growth and offered me an amazing career path. The EA experience has proven that when you put passion into what you do you always get the best possible results. EA feels like I am part of a big family where everybody is dedicated to make the best games in the world. Sometimes, at the end of the day if it happens to not have not been a “good day,” I just say to myself, “hey, you make games for a living!”
How do you unwind and unplug outside of work at EA?
When I am not working, I am likely traveling, spending nights playing video games (I have always been a big FIFA fan!) reading, or going for a car ride.
