In our last blog, we revealed that Split Fiction will be a Nintendo Switch™ 2 launch title. In this blog, we are going to share even more details about the system-specific features coming to the game ahead of its release on June 5th, 2025 when even more players can experience the epic sci-fi and fantasy adventures of Mio and Zoe!

We’re pleased to confirm that you will be able to preorder your copy of Split Fiction on the Nintendo Switch 2 starting April 24th, 2025*, with a planned price of $49.99. 

Hazelight and Nintendo

Recently, Nintendo sat down with Hazelight Studio Founder Josef Fares and Hazelight Chief Operating Officer Oskar Wolontis to chat about their excitement for the new system, their favourite Nintendo games, and their experience bringing Split Fiction to the Nintendo Switch 2 system. Deeper dive into GameShare and GameChat

As mentioned in the last blog, Split Fiction will take advantage of the new Nintendo Switch 2 system features GameShare and GameChat.

GameShare will enable Nintendo Switch 2 owners to invite another player to play together over a local wireless connection using just one copy of the game. This "other player" can be not only a Nintendo Switch 2 owner but a Nintendo Switch owner as well.

GameChat will allow players to easily communicate and collaborate with one another when playing online by using the system’s built-in microphone. Nintendo Switch 2 owners who connect the Nintendo Switch 2 Camera or USB camera to their system will be able to also share their live video as part of the GameChat feature. The camera image will appear on the player indicator UI within the game.

Friends Pass and Cross Play on the Nintendo Switch 2

In case you missed it, Split Fiction on Nintendo Switch 2 will also support Hazelight Friend’s Pass** feature. Thanks to Friend’s Pass, two players can enjoy Split Fiction together online, but only one of those players needs to own a copy of the game! Split Fiction also supports Cross Play, meaning any two players can connect online regardless of which platforms they’re playing on.
