In this blog post, we will detail EA SPORTS NHL 25’s World of CHEL Mode, looking at what's new and how community feedback has helped shape some notable changes.

As we dive into another thrilling year of Chel, we’re excited to bring you a suite of changes to keep the mode fresh and engaging. From all-new Live Events to convenience features like copying your presets in the Creation Zone. 

Here's what’s new:

LIVE EVENTS

First off, our classic Pro-Am and Ones/THREES Eliminator modes have moved into the Live Events grouping and our new dynamic Live Events offer a rotating schedule of unique game experiences, this ensures that World of CHEL stays fresh all year round. 

You’ll be able to enjoy a mix of casual and competitive structures with mode types such as THREES, EASHL 3v3, and EASHL 6v6.

Engage in a variety of different Event Types, whether you prefer to replay your favorite event over and over, Compete in a 3-round eliminator tournament, or advance through a series of games in progression-based events. Events can be fast-paced races to a goal limit or traditional period-based games ranging from 1 - 3. Participating in these events will allow you to earn unique rewards such as Battle Pass Levels, XP Multipliers, Vanity Items, and Chel Coins.

Enjoy our first event in NHL 94 Rewind, which brings back nostalgia with its pixelated blue ice graphics and no-fatigue gameplay.

X-FACTORS & LOADOUT UPDATES

All X-Factors and boosts are now unlocked at player level 1, with adjustments made for balance. Speed, Acceleration, and Agility boosts have been removed, but we’ve added +2 attribute points to default ratings in all custom loads for these attributes. Additionally, the elite Edges Zone and Superstar Abilities have been removed from custom classes in World of Chel to create more variety and balance within the mode.

Custom classes will now receive additional Attribute points (SP) each new season, and these points will carry over, enabling you to progressively enhance your attribute ratings throughout the year.

Special Characters will no longer be restricted to their loadouts. You can now equip your favorite custom loadout to your special characters, allowing for more customization.

REWARDS

Chel Coin rewards are now automatically updated, eliminating the need to open them in bags. This streamlined process applies to Placement Reward, Player Rank Tier Rewards, and End of Season Rewards.

CREATION ZONE

We’ve added a convenient feature to copy and paste your character across different character presets such as Casual Skater, Casual Goalie, Pro Skater, and Pro Goalie. Your character’s bio info and applicable equipment will be copied over with a simple click of a button.

These updates enhance your Chel experience, offering more variety, customization, and rewards. Hit the ice and enjoy the new features.
