2011-06-30

Soccer fans around the world will hear a familiar voice this fall. EA SPORTS announced today that well-respected broadcaster and former England forward Alan Smith will be part of the main English commentary team for FIFA Soccer 12, joining long-time commentator Martin Tyler as the main voices of this year’s title.
For those unfamiliar with the name, Smith is a top-tier broadcaster in the UK and brings a wealth of knowledge and expert analysis to the popular soccer franchise. With the well-known voice of Martin Tyler accompanying him, FIFA 12 promises to be the most authentic soccer game to date.
“The natural chemistry that Martin and I have developed working live matches for TV has transferred very well to the virtual broadcast booth,” said Smith.
For the first time ever, FIFA Soccer 12 will feature two English broadcast teams, and more than 10,000 lines of fresh commentary, making each match sound new and different. The second commentary team, featuring Clive Tyldesley and Andy Townsend, will call tournament matches, giving these games a real-world broadcast feel and sound. Fans will also have the option to customize the audio to their preferred commentators for any matches.
FIFA Soccer 12 will be available September 27th in North America and September 30th worldwide for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC, Wii, PlayStation 2, Nintendo 3DS and PlayStation Portable. Pre-order your copy on Origin today and receive two FIFA Ultimate Team Gold Packs per month for six months!
