At EA, tens of millions of you connect with us every day, and when you do, you are trusting us.  In today’s digital world, security isn’t just strategic for us as a business – it’s at the very core of the relationships we have with all of you.

This is why I am thrilled to welcome Matt Thomlinson to EA as our new SVP, Security Engineering & Chief Information Security Officer (CISO).  In this role, Matt will be leading our global team that is further enhancing the security of player information and gameplay experiences. Matt joins us from Microsoft where he spent over 20 years in a variety of roles, most recently as the Vice President, Security, Cloud and Enterprise Division. In this role, Matt led the creation and support of hyper-scale services that provide the security infrastructure for Azure, the development of customer-facing security features, the protection of Azure infrastructure and enterprise customer data, and Microsoft’s security incident response.

Matt shares a core EA belief that the need for play in our world is profound, and the ability of games to deliver against that need is unmatched by any other form of entertainment.  He also brings great enthusiasm for the challenges that come with the continuing evolution of games and how our players connect.  I’m excited to bring his expertise in building great technology solutions and leading successful security teams during this dynamic time.  Security in all dimensions is vital to Electronic Arts today.  We are pleased to have a seasoned leader like Matt stepping in to lead.

Welcome to the EA family, Matt!
