Last week we announced that EA is getting involved in Movember and men across our organizations will be growing out their facial hair for a good cause. Today, we want to share a story of a brave EA employee who did quite the opposite – she shaved her head bald to raise money for cancer research.

Last week we announced that EA is getting involved in Movember and men across our organizations will be growing out their facial hair for a good cause. Today, we want to share a story of a brave EA employee who did quite the opposite – she shaved her head bald to raise money for cancer research.

Our employee, Anny LaFrance, wanted to find a unique way to raise money for a cause that meant more to her than anything. And rather than joining a larger effort (which we also do here at EA), she decided to raise funds and awareness through her own network by promising to shave her lovely locks if she was able to raise $5,000.

“I’ve been very personally impacted by cancer having lost my father and two close friends to the disease, so it’s an issue that hits very close to home,” said Anny. “I’ve also seen great success stories of family members beating cancer, and celebrating their survival and raising money to help those who need it seemed like a no-brainer. Losing my hair is nothing compared to losing someone to this terrible disease.”

Anny raised well over her goal and shaved her head in front of a live audience of EA colleagues at a recent team meeting. We want to recognize Anny for her courage and for reminding us at EA what’s really important!

If you are interested in donating to Anny’s cause, you can do so here: http://bit.ly/Sp5OAr. Make sure to select, “Donate to Anny.”
