Yesterday, EA executives including CEO John Riccitiello, COO Peter Moore and President of EA Labels Frank Gibeau hosted the grand opening of our new Worldwide Customer Experience Center in Austin, Texas – an early milestone in EA’s continued expansion of our presence in the vibrant Austin market as announced back in July 2011.
EA currently has more than 600 employees in Austin across four groups – BioWare, Worldwide Customer Experience team, IT and EA SPORTS. In July, we announced plans to add 300 more full-time and contractor jobs in Austin, including software engineers, designers and artists, as well as IT and customer experience staff.
Our new Worldwide Customer Experience Center in Austin will be the global hub for our team that is helping customers 24-hours a day, 7 days a week to get the most from their EA games and services. The team in Austin will be managing our Customer Experience teams located throughout the world as we provide support for the world’s biggest and best brands in gaming – from Star Wars: The Old Republic to Mass Effect, from Battlefield to Need for Speed, from Madden NFL to FIFA, and from The Sims to Scrabble.
Texas is a great place to make games, and Austin is a great market for EA. As we opened the doors on the new Worldwide Customer Experience Center yesterday in front of many of our Austin employees, Peter Moore remarked, “It’s only going to get bigger from here.”
