History was made at UFC 157 in Anaheim, California when Ronda Rousey defeated Liz Carmouche to win the first ever UFC women’s fight.

In Spring 2014, EA SPORTS UFC will make history once again as the first UFC video game to feature playable female fighters.

Headlined by UFC Women’s Bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey and top Bantamweight contender Miesha Tate, both will be included in the first UFC video game to break the gender barrier.

Watch the UFC announce Ronda’s debut:

UFC President Dana White on the announcement:

“Since we added the Women’s Bantamweight division earlier this year, the women have impressed everyone. The fights are always exciting, Ronda Rousey is as talented as any champion in the UFC and her rivalry with Miesha Tate is one of the most intense in UFC history. The female division has become a huge part of the UFC and fans will now be able to experience fighting with them in the game.”

Tate and Rousey will coach against each other on Season 18 of The Ultimate Fighter, and the two will face off at UFC 168.

Want more? Here’s Rousey talking about her highly-anticipated fight with Tate.

Feel the fight as the action, emotion, and intensity inside the Octagon are brought to life like never before. The next generation of MMA fighting begins spring of 2014 when EA SPORTS UFC is released for the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4.
