The New Era of Formula 1® Awaits

F1 2021 Header

Prepare to get your hands-on the new era of the fastest motorsport around, including a first look at F1® Life, in the latest F1® 22 trailer.

We’ve been treated to some incredible racing already this season after the biggest shake-up that Formula 1® has seen in years. New regulation changes, new Miami location, and dramatic new cars have resulted in some tight and unpredictable racing. Expect many of these changes to drastically change how you race in F1® 22, arriving July 1 for Xbox, PlayStation, and PC.

New Cars

The 2022 Formula 1® cars have been specifically redesigned for fast, close, and exciting racing, with radical new designs and 18-inch low profile tyres. To accommodate for these changes, F1® 22 includes brand new physics, handling, and tyre models across each of the 10 F1® teams.

F1® Sprint

Introduced to the sport for the first time last year, F1® Sprint races make their debut in F1® 22. Mixing up the race weekend format by sitting in-between Qualifying and Sunday’s Race, Sprints are roughly 100KM races that determine the race starting grid - with points awarded for First, Second, and Third. Will you risk a move during a Sprint or play it safe to secure your grid slot for the race?

Immersive and Broadcast Options

For those wanting an even more detailed F1® experience, F1® 22 introduces new interactive pit stops and formation laps, offering an element of risk to your races. Manually position your car in your grid spot at the end of formation laps to give yourself the best start ahead of Turn 1. A timely turn into your pit box when making a change will result in a quick stop, but reacting too early or late can result in potential errors by your crew. These risk-reward moments can prove critical to your success and a potential place on the podium.

Broadcast options take the pressure off. Formation laps, pit stops, and safety car periods are automated with exciting camera angles similar to those you’d see when watching an actual television broadcast.

Overhauled Practice Programs and Accessibility Options

Practice Programs that help you learn circuits and nail the racing line have been redesigned, with enhanced on-track visuals.

The new Adaptive AI tailors your offline experience to your skill level, offering competitive racing from the moment you hit the track. Plus, with Accessible Handling, you can remove some of the sport’s complexities, with the option to increase the difficulty at the end of every race weekend.

F1® Life

F1® Life is your new social hub, allowing you to show off your collection of supercars, fashion, accessories, and trophies. In-game character personalisation extends beyond the track by including cool and aspirational items that you will be able to earn through in-game challenges, Podium Pass, the brand shop, and the in-game store. When you load F1® 22, you’ll start off at your personal hub that also acts as the Multiplayer lobby, where you can see your friends’ avatars and collections.

Your collection of supercars aren’t just for show, as you can also take them for a spin on the track. Ahead of Qualifying, tackle special Pirelli Hot Lap events throughout Career and My Team, as well as special challenges and Time Trial.

Circuit Changes

The substantial changes to Australia's Albert Park, Spain's Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, and Abu Dhabi's Yas Marina have been reflected in F1® 22. And don’t forget, the exciting new street circuit, Miami International Autodrome, is available to race at launch.

Plus...

Alongside all the new innovations, F1® 22 features VR on PC for the first time, giving players the ability to experience F1 like never before. Also returning is My Team, now with three starting points and new Icons for Champions Edition players, the ever-popular 10-year Career with two-player functionality, and Multiplayer including offline split- screen, and F2™. With improved UI for easier navigation and updated broadcast visuals, there has never been a better time to take to the grid.

We’ll have more to share about F1® 22 before launch on July 1 but be sure to pre-order the F1® 22 Champions Edition for three-days early access and exclusive bonuses including F1® 22 New Era content, an F1® Life Starter Pack, new My Team Icons, and 18,000 PitCoin.
