Last night (Feb 7th, 2013) in Las Vegas, Nevada, the D.I.C.E. (Design. Innovate. Communicate. Entertain.) Summit, in conjunction with the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences, held its 16th annual D.I.C.E. Awards ceremony, honoring the best video games of the previous year. This year’s Best Sports Game of the Year category was won by FIFA 13, who beat out some stiff competition to take top prize.
This is the fourth straight victory for the EA SPORTS FIFA franchise and ninth overall at D.I.C.E. In addition to winning Best Sports Game in each of the previous four years, there was a five year stretch where FIFA 2002, FIFA 2001, FIFA 2000, FIFA 99 and FIFA Road to the World Cup ’98 each took home Best Computer Sports Game of the Year awards.
A huge congratulations goes out to the entire FIFA team at EA Canada for all their hard work. We'd also like to congratulate the other winners and look forward to what the coming year has to offer.
