A friendly match at the EA SPORTS FIFA booth
E3 may get all of the attention, but Gamescom is the largest gaming convention in the world. In its five days, more than 6,000 journalists, 700 exhibitors, and 335,000 gamers will attend, playing the latest games from developers across the world. Here’s a primer on how to follow all of the action.
Stay informed with the Gamescom app
If you’re lucky enough to attend, you should know that Gamescom is so vast that it can sometimes be challenging to get to the right booth at the right time. This is where the official gamescom app for iOS and Android comes in. With the interactive map provided in the app, you will always have reliable information on the highlights of the convention, and of course be notified of all EA events.
What to expect from Gamescom
Gamescom is the place where many of EA’s biggest games will be available to the public for the first time. Gamers will get their first chance to experience Star Wars: Battlefront, Unravel, Madden NFL 16, FIFA 16, and more.
Additionally, players can expect more news and announcements about Need For Speed, Mirror’s Edge Catalyst, The Sims 4, and more. All of the latest news out of the event will be right here, too.
Not just games — There's music too!
Although it's true that almost everything is about games at Gamescom, attendees also get a a chance to see some of the best music around. A wide range of free concerts featuring a number of famous international performers will be taking place in downtown Cologne from Friday evening to Sunday evening. It'll definitely be worth your while! You will find the program for the Gamescom City Festival here.
Music is an important part of the gamescom
And if you'd rather hear music from computer games, you can visit VIDEO Games Live (concerts are also from Friday to Saturday). Find out more in this trailer:
