Player Ratings Update: Week 10

See how huge performances from superstars like DeAndre Hopkins and Terry McLaurin have affected their Madden ratings.

Madden NFL 21

Veteran quarterbacks took center stage in Week 10 as Tom Brady rebounded with four total TDs (including one rushing), Ben Roethlisberger led his still undefeated Steelers to another win with four TD passes of his own, and Aaron Rodgers tallied three TDs (including one rushing) in a victory. We also have some big news in the Madden 99 Club this week, read on to find out more.

Of course epic runs, crazy catches, and incredible plays abounded all over the NFL. And the Madden Ratings Adjustor team is working hard to tweak, refine, and polish ratings across the league based on real-world performances. Let’s take a look and see who’s up in the ranks and who’s down. Access the full Madden NFL 21 Player Ratings Database HERE

Week 10: Who’s Up

DeAndre Hopkins | WR | Arizona Cardinals

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you saw DeAndre Hopkins’ ridiculous, miraculous, game-winning, hail-mary catch in triple coverage against the Bills last Sunday.

For those of you actually living under a rock, here’s the clip:

All season, Hopkins has been playing out of his mind in Arizona. He’s piled up over 100 receiving yards in five games this year with four total touchdowns. And that little catch we shared above put Hopkins BACK into the Madden 99 Club! Nuk was in the 99 Club at Madden NFL 20 launch but had been replaced by Michael Thomas (more on him later) to start this season. It’s a testament to just how consistently elite Hopkins has been playing the last few seasons, as he’s arguably on his way to his fourth-straight First-Team All Pro nomination. Welcome back, Nuk!

Nyheim Hines | RB | Indianapolis Colts

Showcasing his versatility in Week 10, Nyheim Hines posted a season high in rushing with 12 carries for 70 yards and a touchdown, adding six receptions for 45 yards and another score. He’s more of a passing game weapon than a between-the-tackles runner, but Hines has posted some solid games this season putting his full skill set on display. The Madden Ratings Adjustor team is bumping Hines’ OVR up +3 this week.

Terry McLaurin | WR | Washington Football Team

The speedy Washington receiver began the year with an 82 OVR and has crept his way into the high 80s thanks to consistent production all season long. In Week 10, Terry McLaurin posted his fourth-straight game with seven receptions, and has at least 90 yards in each of his last three. It’s hard to ignore his high-quality play, so the Madden Ratings Adjustor team is giving him yet another lift in his OVR this week.

Week 10: Who’s Down

Michael Thomas | WR | New Orleans Saints

Michael Thomas started the year in the Madden 99 Club, but was injured in Week 1, and did not return until Week 9. In his two games back, he’s accumulated just seven catches for 78 yards and zero touchdowns, so it’s no surprise that he’s dropping out of the elite 99 Club ahead of Week 11. It doesn’t help that Thomas’ QB, Drew Brees, was injured last week and now it looks like the Saints will be starting Jameis Winston under center for the time being. Thomas has all the talent in the world, but things just aren’t going his way this season. His OVR is slipping -2 as a result, down to a 97 OVR.

T.Y. Hilton | WR | Indianapolis Colts

Since Philip Rivers took over under center for the Colts, T.Y. Hilton has not produced in a way that NFL fans grew used to over the past several years. In fact, Holton has just 26 grabs for 291 yards through eight games with zero touchdowns this season. His four catches for 40 yards in Week 10 was his “best” outing since Week 5, and the Madden Ratings Adjustor team has no choice but to keep bumping his OVR down. He falls -1 to an 83 OVR this week, after beginning the year at 87 OVR.
