With the launch of Madden NFL 13 and the football season right around the corner we’re ready for some football!

For everyone who’s picking up their own copy of Madden NFL 13 this week, we’ve got all the information you need to jump straight in and start playing. One of the biggest updates to this year’s game is the Connected Careers feature. This new mode seamlessly combines Superstar, Offline Franchise and Online Franchise into an online/offline career mode that allows you to play as practically any player or coach and live out your NFL dream.

Add to that the all-new Infinity Engine, which is a system that augments animation based on contact with other players or objects on the field. Basically, characters will now move and react organically, creating unlimited visual and functional variety to your gameplay experience. A quarterback who gets his arm grazed throwing a pass will now have his throw affected. A running back that falls on a pile and never actually touches the ground will get back up and keep running.

Ultimate Team always gets us, regardless of the franchise, but Madden Ultimate Team is particularly addictive. As some of the veterans know well, Ultimate Team turns 4 this year, and we’re taking our biggest leap forward to date. When you get started in Madden Ultimate Team 13, you’ll again be given a free starter team. This year, you’ll also be able to choose a star player to serve as the captain of your initial squad. Each of the 32 NFL teams will be represented, and you’ll get a training camp version of that player. To let you customize your team right from the start, you’ll also be given a coach and the uniforms to match that team.

There were also changes to Gameplay, Presentation, Audio and the all-new Madden Social. For a video rundown of all of the new features you can go here

If you’re all up to date on the features and just want some tips on how to beat everyone you know, check out our tips on QB pump fakes, the Top 5 Running Plays, the Top 10 Overall Plays and many others on the Madden NFL YouTube Channel. Plus we’ll be rounding up the best tips later this month.
