The Lord of the Rings: Heroes of Middle-earth Reset Update
Greetings Ringbearers,
If you didn’t hear the announcement, The Lord of the Rings: Heroes of Middle-earth has a World Wide Launch date of May 10, 2023!
As we near the end of the Limited Territory Launch (LTL) phase, we’ll be resetting all player accounts on April 26, 2023 at 10am PT in preparation for World Wide Launch. Please read this entire message for critical information about account resets.
Previously we’ve communicated in-game via inbox and on Discord that there will be a reset of all game account progress and unlocked items earned during the LTL. As a reminder, all purchases made In App during the LTL will be converted back into the in-game Gems currency of an equivalent value, plus all purchases of Gems, Gold, XP will be returned with an additional 25% bonus.
Why do we need to reset?
We’ve made many changes during LTL and it’s necessary for us to reset all player data in order for everyone to start off at World Wide Launch of The Lord of the Rings: Heroes of Middle-earth with a clean slate.
Between now and World Wide Launch, we will be releasing another Title Update which will bring with it a lot of changes and fixes to the game. Given the major changes coming in with that Title Update it makes sense to reset player data for everyone at the same time.
What does that mean?
Account progress and unlocked items earned during the Limited Territory Launch period will be reset on April 26th, 2023, at 10am (Pacific Time), at which time the game will be unavailable for several hours. This means that any items you purchased via IAPs during the Limited Territory Launch will be converted back into in-game currency of an equivalent value and credited to your account when the game comes back online. As a token of appreciation for our Limited Territory Launch players: you will also receive an extra 25% bonus of applicable Gems, Gold, and Unit XP purchased credited to your account! Players will still be able to access the in-game store until April 26th, 2023, 9am (Pacific Time).
Please note that you must use the same account you used for the Limited Territory Launch when you log in after the account reset to access your credits.
When is this happening?
The account reset will occur on April 26th, 2023 10am (Pacific Time) which is at the same time as the next Title Update. There will be some time that the servers are offline as we switch over to the new systems. We expect this downtime to last several hours.
In-App purchases will be unavailable from April 26, 2023, 9am (Pacific Time) but will return shortly after the reset finishes - anticipated to last several hours. This timeframe is an estimation and may take longer pending appropriate safety and stability checks. Our goal is to have In-App purchase back online in the game within 24 hours.
May 10th, 2023 is the official World Wide Launch date so this account reset on April 26 is in advance of our World Wide Launch date.
