Madden NFL Mobile 21 Gridiron Notes

Hello, Madden Mobile Community!

Welcome back Madden Mobile Gridiron Notes. Today will we discuss Madden NFL 21 Mobile’s Competitive and Tournament Updates! 

Jeff and Metante, Game Designers for Madden NFL Mobile, both joined the stream to discuss Madden NFL 21 Mobile’s Competitive and Tournament Updates! Firstly, Metante the Beat-Maker, made famous by his Season 6 Field of Fear/Halloween theme music, also told us he has created several different tracks for throughout the Madden NFL 21 Mobile season.

Jeff led the discussion around Overdrive and how it will be taking a step back from its usual competitive format and will instead be a season long mode. There will be no leaderboards or bi-weekly rewards, it will simply be an optional and accessible mode for those who want to play it. He also mentioned eventual scoring changes during specific times to keep things fresh, as well as further potential changes if needed.

Jeff also explained the removal of Captains. Instead, it will be purely coaches and a selectable scheme. This allows users to not replace any current players on their roster with a captain and keeps the team they want on the field, at all times. 

Jeff then elaborated on coaches. He discussed how all plays and tactics will be unlocked immediately, and users will not be required to upgrade/unlock their coaches. Everything in Overdrive will be immediately accessible as part of the “fast to fun” movement. 

After completing the conversation about Overdrive, we then shifted the discussion to Arena! Arena will largely function the same way as prior seasons, with a similar reward and leaderboard structure. However, Jeff spoke to what we all were waiting for, DRAFT TOURNAMENTS. They make their triumphant return to Arena in a consistent bi-weekly format. Every two weeks, users will be able to compete against one another, drafting a fresh team with the best current Madden NFL 21 Mobile players. 

After the Arena breakdown, Metante spoke to the rewards seen on the screen below. This is an example of what you can expect to receive when Madden NFL 21 Mobile releases. He also specifically detailed what Tablets and Battery Packs are used for. Those two currencies are how you unlock and purchase Boosts for your players. This year, the fastest and quickest path to boosts, is through competitive modes.
