American Tim Howard made an incredible one-handed penalty save early in the match, as Everton left Villa Park with a 0:2 victory over Aston Villa on Saturday. The Liverpool club currently occupy sixth place, but sits only a mere four points from the top of the table.

The other side based out of Liverpool was also victorious over the weekend as the Reds defeated West Bromwich Albion 4:1, thanks largely to a Luis Suárez hat-trick. LFC currently sit in third place in the crowded top-half of the Barclays Premier League table with a match on Saturday against first-placed Arsenal in London looming as one of the fixtures to watch this weekend.

In the Ruhr derby between Schalke 04 and visiting Borussia Dortmund, it was the visitors who took home the win by a score of 1:3. The match winner was scored by Turkish international Nuri Şahin in the 51^st minute. While Schalke continue to struggle, Dortmund maintains the pressure on league leaders Bayern Munich, one point behind them in second place.
