The title race in Spain continues to be tense as leaders FC Barcelona and second-place Real Madrid posted wins last Saturday. It started with FC Barcelona crushing Cordoba 0-8, which featured a Luis Suárez hat-trick. Later that evening, Real Madrid left Seville with a 2-3 victory over Sevilla FC. Cristiano Ronaldo earned himself a hat-trick, then followed that up on Tuesday, scoring his club’s only goal in their 2-1 loss to Juventus.

Clint Dempsey had a goal and an assist for Seattle Sounders FC as they defeated the expansion New York City FC 1-3 on Sunday. In six matches this season, the 32 year-old has scored five goals and three assists.
