Bobby Moore Available Now In FIFA 15 Ultimate Team Legends

England’s World Cup winning captain Bobby Moore is now available in FIFA 15 Ultimate Team Legends, check out how his impressive ratings compare with some of the world’s current best.

To celebrate this announce EA SPORTS has been working closely with the Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research UK, and had the opportunity to speak with Frank Lampard Senior and Frank Lampard Junior about their memories of Bobby for England and West Ham. What was he like as a player on and off the pitch, and what are their opinions on his modern day comparisons.

Frank Lampard Junior: As a young boy I was very fortunate to touch the football world and Bobby was the most famous and most prestigious player that I came close to via my Dad. He'd come round the house, sit and talk to my Dad and I'd be in and out, very aware of the stature of him, and then he'd take a moment and kick a ball about like I always used to do with my Dad at the time but when Bobby was around I was fortunate to do that as well.

I remember stories from my Dad telling me 'this is the type of player you want to be, but also more than that this is the type of man you want to be'. My Dad always talked of him in such high regard, not just the sort of player he was but the sort of man he was first and foremost.

He was set apart from everyone. I was a young football fan and I looked up to a lot of players at the time. But he had something special. He wasn't one of the many, he was something different. Whether he knew that, I don't know. He had a class about him and I realise it more now as I'm older myself but as a youngster you know to stand to attention and respect him, more than anything because of the way he held himself.

He and my Dad were so close, I was the one asking them to come and kick a ball as I always would with my Dad and Bobby would always want to come out and get involved. I was that fortunate to do that, in the garden with me in goal and Dad and Bobby kicking balls at me as opposed to anything, making me go and get the ball if it went into the bushes! Most boys do that with their Dad, I was doing it with my Dad and Bobby Moore who captained England to win their only World Cup. Maybe I didn't realise at the time how fortunate I was but I certainly do as I look back now.

Frank Lampard Senior: Bobby was a terrific footballer but he trained, worked very hard on a day to day basis and had a great first touch which he used. He’d hardly ever give the ball away. I would have thought 99 out of 100, his possession would be up at that level. I think you have to remember with someone like Bobby, he wasn’t the quickest around, but I think a lot of his ability was in his head. He used to read everything before anybody else and he is up there with the top players even now, and the game is a bit quicker now than what it was then. The main part of Bobby’s ability was in his head and that’s what kept him above everybody else. He was there before it happened basically. You don’t coach that, you’re born with it, but he used it very well.

The player that comes to mind as a modern day comparison is Frank's old mucker at Chelsea, John Terry. He plays the same game in lots of respects. John's not the quickest centre half in the league, but he's got lots of the same attributes as Bobby. But I think Bobby stands out miles, for me having played with him and looking at his career, I think it will be very hard for anyone to compare themselves with Bobby Moore. Maybe John Terry, he's got some of those same qualities and leadership qualities and that same way about him, but Bobby was a one off.

Frank Lampard Junior: If you were to put Bobby in any era, in the era he played or moving up to the era now with Messi and Ronaldo, with his quality across the board, he would be able to deal with all of them.

Stephanie Moore, Bobby’s widow and founder of The Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research UK, commented "It's amazing to see Bobby lace-up his boots and step out on to the pitch in a football video game. I'm so proud that a new generation of fans who never saw Bobby play will now be able to see what a wonderful player he was."
