EA SPORTS™ Premier League Player of the Month - January - Dele Alli
After an impressive start to the New Year, that saw the Tottenham and England starlet score five goals and provide an assist, EA SPORTS™ spoke to Dele Alli as he was named the EA SPORTS™ Player of the Month. He gave us his thoughts on what it feels like to win the award for the first time, re-capturing his goal scoring form and what it felt like to score in the win against league leaders Chelsea.
EA SPORTS™ : How does it feel to win this award for the first time?
DA : It's great, you see who wins it and some of the great players who have won it in the past. The team has done really well this month, not just me individually. We've had a lot of players who have been in form so it's a real honour for me to win it.
EA SPORTS™ : You went on a 7 game streak without scoring and then scored 8 in 6, what do you think the change was down to?
DA : I was getting frustrated as I was getting into the right positions to get goals and assists but it just wasn't happening, and then it seemed to just click over night and I started putting them away. I was grateful to finally start getting some goals.
EA SPORTS™ : Did you change your style of player or the way you were training?
DA : Obviously I was working on my finishing because when you go a few games without a goal you can start to lose your confidence in your finishing and you start wondering why it's not working out. I just kept working hard in training on my finishing and thankfully the goals started coming.
EA SPORTS™ : Do you think there is a secret to going on a goal scoring run? Is it confidence?
DA : Yeah, I think confidence is a big part of it. Also luck, the ball has got to fall for you in the right time and the right place. I also think that because we have got such a good team here, if you make the runs, the ball is going to find its way to you.

EA SPORTS™ : Do you often get tips from teammates like Harry Kane?
DA : He's always the first to tell me when I've missed a chance. He's a great player and he's scored a lot of goals as well. I'm sure he will continue to keep scoring goals, that's the sort
of player he is. It's a real privilege to play with a player like him.
EA SPORTS™ : How important was the win against Chelsea within this goal scoring spell?
DA : There's no hiding how big that game was for not only for us, but the fans as well. A lot went into that game, especially after what happened last season. We wanted to prove a point and prove that we are a good team. That result gave the team and the fans a lot of confidence.
EA SPORTS™ : Of the 5 goals you scored in January, were the two against Chelsea your favourite or was there another?
DA : I think all of the goals were headers pretty much! But yeah it was a great game to score in, but even more important to get the win. It was a great feeling.
EA SPORTS™ : What are your tips to budding midfielders who want to score as often as you do?
DA : Just to make forward runs and to get into the box as often as possible. Sometimes midfielders hesitate to fill the box but it's something I try and include in my game as much as possible. It's key to run in behind the striker, get the chances and put them away.
EA SPORTS™ : Do you play much FIFA 17 in your team?
DA : Yeah, all the time.
EA SPORTS™ : In the dressing room, who are the best players?
DA : Vincent Janssen surprised everyone. We were all playing and he asked for a go and then he just starting beating everyone 3-0!
EA SPORTS™ : Have you played FIFA 17 against Eric Dier?
DA : Yeah, it's very close match-up to be fair. He is surprisingly good at the game but I still beat him most of the time.
