Robert Lewandowski scored twice in Borussia Dortmund’s 5:0 rout of SC Freiburg to maintain top position in Germany, even on points with rival Bayern Munich. With only a single point separating first place from third, Dortmund will hope that their goal production continues not only from the FIFA cover athlete but from the entire squad.
In his first full start with Everton, Romelu Lukaku managed to score two goals in their 3:2 victory over Newcastle. The twenty year-old on loan from Chelsea has now scored three goals in only a game and a half played. While Chelsea supporters would love to have Lukaku back on their squad as soon as possible, Everton fans are eager to see what more he can do for theirs in the meantime.
In an important home match against Spartak Moscow, Zenit St. Petersburg defeated their rivals 4:2 to take sole control of first place in the Russian Premier League. A key factor in the victory was the Brazilian Hulk who managed to score a goal in the 69th minute and assisted on two others.
