FC Pro Draft Review - Match Week 7

Match Week 7 saw some of the strongest drafts yet at the FC Pro Open, as two more players looked to book their place in the next stage.

Players were handed a 15 million coin budget this week, with requirements to include at least one Team of the Year (TOTY) item from both the men’s and women’s respective teams.

That saw some of the most sought-after items in action on Monday night as Vejrgang came into Match Week 7 on top of Group C narrowly ahead of AbuMakkah, while seanldw, AntoniniGabriel, and eWorld Cup 2023 champion ManuBachoore had some work to do to secure qualification.

FC Pro Open Match Week 7 FC Pro Draft Review

TOTY Erling Haaland wasted no time in announcing himself at the FC Pro Open, playing a key role in ManuBachoore’s convincing 8-3 victory over AntoniniGabriel, and that was just the start of things to come for the stellar forward.

No one quite knew how to stop the Norway international, who provided a constant threat at the back post as well as lethal finishing with both standard timed shots and trivelas. That saw his price rise across the evening as he continued to prove to be a difference-maker in every match.

Elsewhere, Sophia Smith was the most popular option among competitors for the item selection from the TOTY women’s team, and she was also impressive with her agile movement inside the box that helped open up space for an extra pass or shot at goal.

ManuBachoore

The 15 million coin budget provided room for some big names in Match Week 7, with Ruud Gullit selected in ManuBachoore’s team. The Dutch icon provided strong defensive cover across the night, though one of his highlight moments was his exquisite first touch and finish against Vejrgang.

Zidane was also a standout in Match Week 7, with consistent passing to help garner control in midfield areas. It was the French icon that stood out in the final match between Vejrgang and AbuMakkah, in which Dynasties Juan Sebastian Veron also returned with a trademark long-range trivela effort that he has excelled with across the FC Pro Open.

Some percentages from Match Week 7 of the FC Pro Open

The streak continues. An item version of Virgil van Dijk has been selected in 100% of teams in the FC Pro Open across the six eligible Match Weeks (excluding Icon Week in MW3).

WW Lev Yashin’s hype train is still running strong, and he is now the second-most picked centre-back at the FC Pro Open with six selections (18%).

There was a percentage drop for RTTK Modric who didn’t feature in any of the drafts in Match Week 7, and that saw his selection rate drop to 42% across all teams at the FC Pro Open.

Thunderstruck Davies (10) is now the most selected individual full-back, having featured in 30% of starting teams.

A bigger budget this week meant more room for big names, and that saw debuts outside of Icon Week for Zinedine Zidane (6%), Ruud Gullit (3%), and Paolo Maldini (3%)

TOTY Haaland showed exactly why he was selected in all five teams in Match Week 7, with an audition that should see him a regular at the FC Pro Open from now on.

Here’s how the group looks after Match Week 7 of the FC Pro Open

Group C table

Strong starts to Match Week 7 from Vejrgang and AbuMakkah meant they were never dislodged from the top two positions. That means it is maximum upgrades for FC Pro Live Mohamed Simakan and Kalidou Koulibaly, with the Senegal star set to be upgraded to 90 OVR as well as earning a new playstyle. Vejrgang will face Young in the FC Pro Open Finals, while AbuMakkah is set to go up against PHzin

Better performances this time around from ManuBachoore were enough to secure upgrades for Hirving Lozano, but he ultimately didn’t do enough against the top two players to make a run for qualification. The Team Gullit Pro and seanldw will receive automatic invitations to the next FC Pro Open Global Qualifier.

Who won the draft on Match Week 7 of the FC Pro Open?

There wasn’t too much to split the teams in Match Week 7 with the item of the night featuring in all five teams. TOTY Haaland was simply unstoppable, putting in the best displays seen at the FC Pro Open so far.

AbuMakkah and Vejrgang were the two best performers from Group C, and they were also the two only sides to include Zinedine Zidane. That gives the two standouts with the biggest claim as the draft winner from Match Week 7, but which squad would you prefer?
