The Dane destroyed his opposition impressively, showing new elements to his game that have helped him evolve from a great FC player to the FC Pro World Champion.

Here's how Anders Verjgang secured the FC Pro World Championship.

Quarter-finals

Vejrgang vs. HezerS

Anders Vejrgang opened the day with a confident win over HezerS, crushing the eSerie A TIM champion’s chances of making it to the next round within the first half of their match-up.

The Dane started quickly against his opponent, keeping HezerS’ on the backfoot as he attacked his defence repeatedly. Hezer's inability to gain control of the game was ultimately his undoing, as Anders punished his mistakes quite easily.

The key to Anders’ success was his efficiency in front of goal, as he scored seven of the nine shots against Hezer.

Vejrgang wins 7-2

xcharifx vs. Abu Makkah

xcharifx had another stunning performance at the FC Pro World Championship by sending AbuMakkah crashing out of the competition.

The Moroccan was focused throughout, maintaining his calm even when he was able to put the ball in the back of the net. Despite AbuMakkah looking impressive during the earlier stages of the competition, he had no answer for xcharifx’s potent offense.

Although AbuMakkah was able to reduce the scoreline, his goal proved to be nothing more than a consolation, as xcharifx was too dominant throughout the match.

Emre Yilmaz vs. Yuval

After a fantastic victory over former World Champion Manu Bachoore in the Round of 16, F.C. Famalicão’s Yuval took out another huge favorite to win the competition by defeating Emre Yilmaz.

Many fans believed that Yilmaz’s experience would help lead him past Yuval, especially when he went 2-0 up against him. However, Yuval was able to fight back and make Yilmaz crumble under his unrelenting pressure.

Yuval wins 5-2

Jafonso vs. K1John

Jafonso came out on top for the second time this year against Inter Miami CF’s K1John, taking his eMLS rival out of the competition with a solid performance.

Their eMLS Cup Finals matchup earlier this year was a completely one-sided affair, as Jafonso smashed K1John 6-0. However, that wasn’t the case in their rematch, as K1 John made it extremely difficult for the Portuguese star to get on top.

K1John led the game early, using his signature chipped passes and knockdowns to cause havoc with Jafonso’s defense. However, Jafonso would eventually take over in the second half once he found his rhythm, spelling the end to K1John’s run in the FC Pro World Championship.

Jafonso wins 4-2.

Semi-Final

Anders Vejrgang vs. xcharifx

It was an impeccable performance by Anders Vejrgang against xcharifx, as he ended the Moroccan’s incredible FC Pro World Championship journey with a fantastic 6-0 victory.

The difference between the two players was evident from the very beginning, as Anders took the lead early with a magnificent goal. It was one-way traffic from there on out as the Dane made his opponent pay for every mistake made during the game.

Although Anders will receive all the plaudits for securing his spot in the Finals, xcharifx should be very proud of his incredible FC Pro World Championship run.

Jafonso vs. Yuval

In what turned out to be the most tense game of the day, Jafonso and Yuval battled to a draw over 120 in-game minutes.

Both players had several opportunities to win the game in regulation and extra time, but a mixture of solid defending and shocking misses from them both ensured that this game would go to penalties.

The penalty shootout was just as tense as the game itself, as both men slammed their penalties home. However, Yuval was able to predict that Jafonso would put his penalty to the left on the eighth attempt to make sure he saved the shot and secured his spot in the final.

Yuval wins 8-7 on penalties.

Finals

Anders Vejrgang vs. Yuval

Another emphatic performance from Anders Vejrgang ensured that he became the inaugural FC Pro World Champion.

Yuval presented an interesting challenge for the RBLZ Gaming star, but it didn’t matter as he proved that the F.C. Famalicão player wasn’t on his level. His superiority was evident from the beginning of the game, as Anders didn’t allow Yuval even the smallest opportunity to mount an attack.
