After weeks of regional and global qualifiers, the 20 players who will compete in the inaugural FC Pro Open have now been confirmed.
If the action so far is anything to go by, then viewers are in for a real treat over the coming months of group-stage competition.
At November's dramatic FC Pro Open Global Qualifier, an initial field of 64 competitors was whittled down to 32 during the Swiss Stage of the tournament.
On Day 1 of the Knockouts, Tekkz, AntoniniGabriel, Levi De Weerd, Young, FacuCowen, Fouma, H1dalgo and seanldw all secured their spots.
On the second day, Umut, Matias Bonanno, Anders Vejrgang, Emre Yilmaz, Lukas, AbuMakkah, The 1Os and Happy completed the field - the last of which in the most dramatic of circumstances.
Those 16 competitors will join ManuBachoore, Mark11, Obrun and PHZin, who received automatic qualification for the FC Pro Open for their performance last season.
The 20 competitors will compete in head-to-head competition in one of four groups of five, with the top two from each group making it to the single elimination championship bracket.
Players will draft squads each week, based on transfer budgets and can represent themselves, domestic clubs or esports teams.
The top four players will earn places at the FC Pro World Championships in June and an automatic invite to the following season’s FC Pro Open
The middle 12 players will earn automatic invites to the following season’s Global Qualifier while the bottom four players will be relegated.

Each week of FC Pro Open will focus on one group. Each group will play one time before the holiday break and another time in the new year. In the end, eight of those players will compete in the single elimination championship bracket to find the FC Pro Open champion.
