Hey FGS Fans, 

We’ve made the difficult decision to cancel the EA SPORTS FIFA 22 Global Series Team of the Year Cup scheduled for January 21-23. 

Our top priority is protecting our competitors, employees, tournament partner staff, and communities and the decision was made based on Covid-19 conditions including the rising transmission rates of the Delta and Omicron variants, country-by-country travel restrictions, guidance from health officials, and recommendations from health organizations, including the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and World Health Organization (WHO).

The 32 qualified teams for the Team of the Year Cup (16 FGS Masters teams invited directly, and the 16 clubs to qualify from the online FGS Open on Dec 10-12, 2021) will each receive an equal share of the prize money from the Team of the Year Cup.  The 32 teams who qualified for the Team of the Year Cup will have their qualification transferred to the Team of the Season Cup in April 2022.

We’ll continue to keep our fans as updated as possible and will provide more FGS competitive event information when appropriate. We want to reiterate that should conditions allow, we intend to return to in-person competition this April for the Team of the Season Cup.
