Playing in his first match for Real Madrid, 21 year-old Isco scored the match-winning goal in the 86^th minute to help lead his club to a 2:1 win over Real Betis. Isco also was credited with an assist earlier in the match, when he helped set-up Karim Benzema’s equalizer in the 26^th minute.

VfL Wolfsburg crushed Schalke 04 on Saturday 4:0 to earn their first victory of the young Bundesliga season. There were four different goal-scorers for the club including Brazilian defender Naldo, who scored the third goal of the match in the 61^st minute.

Simon Mignolet was the hero for Liverpool as the he saved a penalty in the 89^th minute, securing the Reds 1:0 victory over Stoke City in the first match of the Premier League season. The 25 year-old Belgium international made quite the impression and will be a pivotal piece if the club hopes to have a successful season.
