Diego Maradona

Diego Maradona became a footballing giant after dominating headlines across Argentina, Spain, Italy and the world over. Crowned FIFA Player of the 20th Century alongside Pelé, Maradona left a permanent imprint on The World’s Game as he rose from a young boy at Argentinos Juniors to a shining star at Boca Juniors, Barcelona, and Napoli, leading the Partenopei to two historic Scudetto wins. Deified in both Naples and Argentina, El Pibe de Oro led his national team to FIFA World Cup™ glory in 1986 with a string of iconic goals and tantalising performances.

Nadine Angerer
