FC Pro Draft Review - Match Week 6
Another set of draft requirements brought more dilemmas for players in Match Week 6. Here's who dealt with them the best.
January 16

Match Week 6 of the FC Pro Open saw plenty of action early on with some of the most interesting draft selections at the competition yet.

Players were allowed to draft just one player per nation, though the individual nations of the players involved in Group B (Mexico, Brazil, Argentina) were all required to be included.

While the likes of Mbappe and Virgil van Dijk remained integral parts in all five sides, we saw FC Pro Open debuts for multiple items in Match Week 6, including one of the most exciting players on FC24 in Brazilian Icon Ronaldo.

FC Pro Open Match Week 6 FC Pro Draft Review

One of the biggest talking points from Match Week 6 was the inclusion of Icon Ronaldo by Bonanno, who had to win all games on the night to have any hope of qualifying.

The Brazilian Icon delivered in moments for the Manchester City esports star, but a key chance missed in Round 6 against FacuCowen was costly in ending his FC Pro Open tournament early.

Mia Hamm was a standout performer as one of the heavy investments from three of the teams that outlayed around 3 million coins for her, and she certainly paid dividends, not least for a clinical Young who was able to score a number of high-level goals from both inside and outside of the box.

The talk of the attack didn’t slow down across the evening as Dynasties Erling Haaland continued to shine as a unique pick for FacuCowen, with the Norwegian forward causing problems with his presence at the back post. That was vital in FacuCowen’s victory over PHzin in Round 8 that left four players in Group C on 11 points.

FacuCowen

Elsewhere UCL hero Carlos Tevez was a consistent threat with his physical presence and excellent shot power, while Icon Hugo Sanchez also shined despite being one of the more underrated items in Match Week 6.

Away from the forward line, Cafu was the best-performing full-back, especially for Young who scored multiple trivela efforts with him while constantly stretching the play down the right flank. RTTK Modric, as ever, was a strong performer at both ends of the pitch.

Some percentages from Match Week 6 of the FC Pro Open

Virgil van Dijk has been selected in 100% of teams (excluding Icon week in Match Week 3), and we have now seen five versions of the Dutch defender used at the FC Pro Open.

RTTK Modric (14) is individually the most selected midfield item at 56%, but he forms a three-way tie with Jude Bellingham and Alexia Putellas, who have also been selected 14 times when including their alternative item editions.

Base Mbappe has been selected 24 times at the FC Pro Open from the five eligible match weeks – more than any other item (96%). Lukas’ omission of him in Match Week 1 remains the only one.

Peter Schmeichel remains the most popular goalkeeper having been selected by 40% of teams, while we also saw debuts for Courtois and Cech (selected for the first time outside of Icon week)

Here’s how the group looks after Match Week 6 of the FC Pro Open

FC Pro Open Group B table

Bonanno faced elimination from the FC Pro Open after defeat to FacuCowen in round one, but he maintained a competitive force in all of his remaining matches.

PHzin was forced to fight to hold onto qualification into the FC Pro Open Finals after a slow start, but did eventually confirm top spot and the maximum upgrades available for FC Pro Live Branco van den Boomen. He was joined in the final by his Brazilian compatriot Young.

Enthralling drama saw Young (14 points) edge out FacuCowen (also 14 points) on goals scored to confirm qualification and FC Pro Live Willian upgraded, with his price rising in sync with the Brazil international’s performances across the night.

Happy confirmed an extra IF upgrade for Florian Thauvin after surpassing the 10-point mark, while Manuel Locatelli will also receive one more IF upgrade after a valiant effort from FacuCowen.

Who won the draft on Match Week 6 of the FC Pro Open

It’s time to decide who you think won the draft in Match Week 6 of the FC Pro Open.

The choice to select Ronaldo was bold from Bonanno, but while it didn’t pay off, the Argentina international did have to gamble this week after registering zero points in Match Week 2.

Mia Hamm was one of the best picks in the sides of PHzin, Young, and Happy, but FacuCowen was able to generate plenty of value from the selection of Dynasties Erling Haaland.

Given Cafu was also one of the standout picks on the day, the winner of the draft looks to be between Young and FacuCowen.
