Deep Dive - FC Pro Open Finals

The FC Pro Open Finals are set to take place on February 3 at 4 pm GMT, as the final eight players go up against each other in a battle to become the first ever FC Pro Open champion.

Months of competition has led us to this stage, and after the Group stages concluded on Monday, only the best eight remain. Team Gullit (Emre Yilmaz and Levi De Weerd) and RBLZ Gaming (Vejrgang and Umut) both have two competitors left in the event, while Obrun, PHzin, AbuMakkah, and Young complete the line-up.

Three rounds lie between each player and the FC Pro Open crown, in what will be the most competitive match-ups seen at the FC Pro Open yet.

Here’s our preview and everything you need to know about the Finals.

Who made it to the FC Pro Open Finals?

Eight of the best names in FC24 are set to take part in the Finals after they successfully made it out of the Group stage, but the journey has been slightly different for each player.

PHzin and Obrun secured automatic invitations to the Group stage after they made it to the semi-finals of the 2023 eWorld Cup, and they are the only two from the four players that qualified directly to make it out of the Group stage.

The FC Pro Open Global Qualifier is where it began for Vejrgang, Umut, and Emre Yilmaz, who were all invited to that stage, while Levi De Weerd, Young, and AbuMakkah have had the longest journey – having had to also navigate through the Regional Qualifiers.

Here are your final eight that are set to feature on Saturday:

  • AbuMakkah - Team Falcons

  • Emre Yilmaz - Team Gullit

  • Levi De Weerd - Team Gullit

  • Obrun - Exeed Verona

  • PHzin - AFC Ajax esports

  • Umut - RBLZ Gaming

  • Vejrgang - RBLZ Gaming

  • Young - Tuzzy esports

Where are the FC Pro Open Finals taking place?

The FC Pro Open Finals are set to take place live from London at the Troubadour – the same venue that played host during the Group stages.

How does the Tournament Bracket look?

EAFC FINALS Brackets

The FC Pro Open Finals tournament bracket sees group winners going up against group runners-up, but there are no easy games at this stage.

Emre Yilmaz (Group A winner) was the first to secure his place to the FC Pro Open Finals, and he is set to go up against 2023 eWorld Cup semi-finalist Obrun (Group D runner-up), who registered his place in the final game of Match Week 8 with a victory over Fouma.

PHzin (Group B winner) was the top scorer from the FC Pro Open Group stage with 41 goals scored in eight games (an average of 5.1 per game). He is set to play against one of the best players from Saudi Arabia in AbuMakkah, who proved himself to be one of the the most composed competitors at the tournament.

The quality of matches shows no sign of reducing by our third quarter-final, which sees Umut (Group A runner-up) take on the winner of the ‘Group of Death’ in Levi De Weerd. Vejrgang (Group C winner) and Young (Group B runner-up) complete the line up.

A fiercely competitive bracket could see an all Team Gullit final should Emre Yilmaz and Levi De Weerd make it past the first two rounds, but RBLZ don’t have the same possibility with Vejrgang and Umut – who are on course to meet in the semi-final.

FC Pro Open Finals Competition Format and Prize Pool

The FC Pro Open Finals will be played in a single elimination bracket, which means one defeat will see a player leave the competition.

Each individual round from the quarter-finals is played over two-legs of nine minute halves, with extra time and penalties required if the aggregate score is level after two matches.

The final eight will also compete for the final $350,000 from the FC Pro Open’s $500,000 prize pool. All players have secured $30,000 by making it to the Finals, but they can now make significant jumps up the pay ladder, with the winner set to take home $80,000.

Below listed are the total prize pool amounts up for grabs relative to the position that each player finishes in

Winner (1st) - $80,000

Runner-up (2nd) - $60,000

Semi-finalists (3rd and 4th) - $45,000

Quarter-finalists (5th - 8th) - $30,000
