PHzin: FC Pro Open win would be 'dream come true'

For PHzin, his FC Pro Open debut could hardly have gone any better. Barring a dramatic 4-4 draw with FacuCowen, the Brazilian star looked peerless, winning his other three matches - and scoring a remarkable 22 goals in the process.

Heading into Monday night's Group B fixtures, he may have had some worries over the lack of matches he'd played on FC 24, with the FC Pro Open being his LAN debut on the game.

Indeed, fears over rustiness may have been compounded by fellow automatic qualifier (alongside ManuBachoore and Obrun) Mark11's poor start in Group A.

By contrast, PHzin looked back to his very best from the outset in London, defeating 2023 eLaLiga champion Bonanno 5-2 in his opening tie.

After his win against the talented Argentine, he said: "I always play against Bonanno, he's really hard [to play]. It's an amazing start for me, I feel very confident as well."

Regarding his second-half team press, which helped him seal the win in style, PHzin added: "It is just automatic [for me], I want to win every game I'm in really."

The wins kept coming after his opening match triumph, as he registered a 6-2 win against fellow Brazilian Young, with Happy also being soundly beaten 7-1 by the Ajax Esports player.

These results have reemphasised to the watching world just what an extraordinary talent PHzin is - in case anyone had forgotten about his FIFAe Nations Cup win last year.

Unsuprisingly, he is now among the favourites to win the inagural FC Pro Open, with the Finals now firmly within reach.

If he does go all the way, he'll have - in his own words - fulfilled a dream.

"It would be a dream come true to win the FC Pro Open," he stated on Monday night.

"I would emerge as one of the best players in history."

With back-to-back FIFAe Nations Cup titles under his belt, PHzin is already regarded as one of the world's very best - but the man himself has even loftier ambitions.

While there is a very long way to go, his performances in Group B so far suggest that his dream may just come true at next year's FC Pro Open Finals.

After the conclusion of his four matches on Monday, PHzin expressed great satisfaction with the way he played, saying: "I feel amazing, what a day for me. I played really well.

"I hope I can play the same next time."

Indeed, the job isn't done just yet for the Brazilian, as he still needs to secure qualification to the Finals when Group B gets back underway in January.

In the meantime, it's back to training with Ajax, having moved to Europe earlier this year after joining the Dutch team on a multi-year deal.

So, what's his verdict on Europe since making the move? "It's very different for me [here], it's very cold!" he joked.
