With the FC Pro Open Finals almost here, the time has come for each of the eight players to select their respective squads.
The Finals see the likes of Levi de Weerd, PHzin, Emre Yilmaz, Vejrgang, Umut, Young, Obrun and AbuMakkah make their FC Pro Draft selections, in a bid to become the competition's first-ever champion.
Before we dive into the eight squads, here's a brief reminder of what the FC Pro Draft entails - and what the squad requirements are for the upcoming Finals.
What is the FC Pro Draft?
With FC Pro Draft, competitors will be set a budget in coins that they must adhere to. As an example, for the FC Pro Open Global Qualifier in November last year, the budget was set at 8,000,000 coins. Competitors need to build a full squad – their starting XI and subs – that stays within this budget and submit it before the deadline.
The budget amount has changed throughout the FC Pro Open, although it's been scrapped altogether for the Finals.
FC Pro Open Finals Draft Requirements
In a first for the FC Pro Draft, no budget has been set. Players in the Finals can spend as many coins as they like on their squads, with the only stipulation being that their starting XI's must contain a minimum of four SBC's.
Brace yourself for some outrageously good forward lines.
AbuMakkah
AbuMakkah, like every other player in the Finals, has opted for a balanced 4-3-2-1 formation, meaning an extra attacker can be included alongside the obvious choices of Team of the Year Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe (both 97). In his case, that attacker is TOTY Icon Mia Hamm (95).
The Saudi player's SBC choices are Flashback Bruno Fernandes (93), YOTY Homare Sawa (93), Icon Peter Schmeichel (89) and Icon Cafu (91).
AbuMakkah's squad chemistry is the highest of any finalist, at 32.
Emre Yilmaz
Emre Yilmaz has deployed the fearsome front three of TOTY Haaland and Mbappe, alongside TOTY Icon Ronaldo (95).
In terms of SBC selection, the Team Gullit star has gone for Flashback Alphonso Davies (89), and Premium SBC Lloris (91) with Icon Cafu and Flashback Fernandes.
Levi de Weerd
In terms of item selection, Levi de Weerd is the only finalist alongside Vejrgang to play SBC Icon Paulo Maldini (92) as a left-sided CB next to TOTY Virgil van Dijk.
He has also picked TOTY Ona Batlle (95) at Right-back over Icon Cafu.
Obrun
Familiar names litter Obrun's Starting XI, although he does have a couple of unique selections.
He joins AbuMakkah in choosing Mia Hamm over R9 in attack, while he is the only player in the Finals to go for Icon TOTY Rio Ferdinand (93) at LCB.
PHzin
Brazilian superstar PHzin hasn't gone for either Maldini or Ferdinand at LCB.
Instead, Winter Wildcard Ruud Gullit (89) is one of his four SBC choices. Could the lack of a 90+ rated defender hurt the Ajax man? We'll soon find out.
Umut
Umut has arguably opted for the strongest starting XI on paper, with Mbappe, Ronaldo and Haaland in attack.
All of the German's SBC items are in defence, with Icon Cafu, Maldini, and Schmeichel in the XI with Flashback Davies.
Vejrgang
There are very few differences between Vejrgang's squad and that of his RBLZ Gaming teammate, Umut.
However, the biggest selection difference is surely his inclusion of fellow Dane Caroline Graham Hansen (97) on the wing.
This bold choice means that Vejrgang is the only finalist to leave out TOTY Haaland. Brave indeed.
Young
By contrast, Young has included TOTY Haaland, while his SBC choices are Flashback Davies and Fernandes, Winter Wildcard Gullit, as well as Premium SBC Lloris.
