The final FC Pro Open Match Week of 2023 sees Group D get underway - and it's sure to deliver plenty of fireworks.
With Tekkz, Fouma, The1OS, Levi de Weerd and automatic qualifier Obrun all competing on Monday night (December 18), the competition for the top two qualification spots in the group is set to be fierce.
What is the FC Pro Draft?
With FC Pro Draft, competitors will be set a budget in coins that they must adhere to. As an example, for the FC Pro Open Global Qualifier last month, the budget was set at 8,000,000 coins. Competitors need to build a full squad – their starting XI and subs – that stays within this budget and submit it before the deadline.
The budget amount will change throughout the FC Pro Open, making the job of building a competitive squad even tougher.
The cost of each player item will be set based on the in-game transfer market price of the item. The prices will be locked at a certain time each week and players will use those to build their squads.
Match Week 3 Requirements
In line with last week's requirements, each player in Group D will also have 9,000,000 coins to spend on assembling their whole squad.
However, where the Group C participants could only use Icons, those in Group D can now select a maximum of two items per league - although the Icon stipulation no longer applies.
Naturally, this should allow for great differentiation across the five squads, even if you can expect to see many of the usual suspects.
Here then, are the FC Pro Open squads for Match Week 4.
Fouma
We begin with French and Lorient star Fouma, who lines his side up in Vejrgang's favourite formation - 4-4-2.
Two of Fouma's fellow countrymen spearhead his attack, in the form of the base item Kylian Mbappe and the 89-rated David Ginola Heroes item.
He is also the only person in Group D to select the Vinicius Jr base item (89) and In-Form Theo Hernandez.
His side has a high overall chemistry of 30 out of 33.
Levi de Weerd
Dutchman Levi de Weerd sticks with the most common formation in Group D - the 4-3-3. This allows him to deploy Mbappe, Ginola and Hansen in thier favoured forward positions.
Just behind the forwards are a trio of Spanish-based midfielders, as base item Alexia Putellas (91), Champions League Live Luka Modric (93), and In-Form Federico Valverde - only picked by the Team Gullit star - all feature.
The Champions League Live Modric item is one to watch in particular, as it is the highest rated of any selected in Match Week 4.
Tekkz
Having remained unbeaten in the Global Qualifier alongside FacuCowen, plenty is expected of home-town hero Tekkza in London.
Like De Weerd (whom he beat in qualifying), the Man City Esports star also opts for a 4-3-3 formation. He has several unique draft selections, with three Trailblazers in the form of Caroline Graham Hansen (91), Jude Bellingham (88) and Joao Cancelo (88).
He is also the only player in Group D to select Socrates in the CAM position, while his choice of Mike Maignan in goal - over Icons Peter Schmeichel and Edwin van der Sar - will surely raise a few eyebrows.
Unsurprisingly, this selection has brought his squad chemistry down to 26.
Obrun
The FC Pro Open debutant sticks with the tried and trusted 4-4-3 system, as well as the familiar attacking trio of Ginola, Mbappe and Trailblazer Hansen.
The Italians's two Premier League representatives are Virgil van Dijk (who appears in every Group D squad) and 87-rated Hero Yaya Toure.
Defence is where we see Obrun depart from consensus picks, choosing the UEFA Heroes Sonia Bompastor item (89) at Left-back, with Manchester United legends Rio Ferdinand and van der Sar being his icon selections.
These picks leave Obrun with a squad chemistry of 27.
The 1OS
The1OS is seemingly throwing caution to the wild with his formation choice, going for an attacking 4-2-4.
For as much as he may leave him exposed defensively, it does at least allow the Twisted Minds star to include Ginola, Mbappe, Trailblazer Hansen and Alexia Putellas.
There are many of the usual suspects down the spine of his squad, but at Full-back, he is, in fact, the only player in Group D to select a Bayern duo of In-Form Alphonso Davies (86) and Radioactive Noussair Mazraoui (87).
Like Tekkz, his squad chemistry is 26.
