FC Pro Open - Match Week 2 Preview

It’s time for Match Week 2 of the FC Pro Open as the members of Group B take their places in London on Monday December 4.

An entertaining matchday in Match Week 1 saw plenty of drama as Emre Yilmaz and Umut finished strongest with 10 points apiece, and the five players in Group B will all be hopeful of starting in similar fashion.

There is plenty of talent to look out for in Group B too, as PHzin, Young, FacuCowen, Bonanno, and Happy prepare to play their first four games before they will then return after the festive period on January 15.

Be sure to keep up with all of the action across our YouTube and Twitch platforms, where FC Pro Open viewership rewards will be available across the competition.

These are the players and matches to look out for for Match Week 2.

Players to watch at the FC Pro Open - Match Week 2

FacuCowen

FacuCowen was one of just two players at the FC Pro Open Global qualifier that navigated through the Swiss Stage with a perfect 5-0 finish. Cowen secured a notable victory over fellow Argentine Nicolas99fc in that round, before making it through to the FC Pro Open with knockout round wins over Montaxer and Seanldw.

The 20-year-old looks to have taken his game to new levels on FC24, and he will now be one of the key players to watch after matching Tekkz’s perfect record of seven wins from seven matches at the Global Qualifier.

He will be representing FC Pro Live Manuel Locatelli at the FC Pro Open, and given that item already has 78 pace, potential upgrades could see him quickly become one of the strongest box-to-box midfield options in the game if FacuCowen performs well.

FacuCowen

Bonanno

Matias Bonanno was one of the standout stars at the FC Pro Open Global qualifier after a 4-1 Swiss Stage finish saw him suffer his only defeat to Manchester City teammate Tekkz. He comes into the FC Pro Open as one of the tournament favourites.

He had one of the most difficult routes to the FC Pro Open in the knockout rounds as he was placed into the winners bracket against Emre Yilmaz, and he came out on top before booking his place to the FC Pro Open with a 5-3 win over Vejrgang.

FC Pro Live Yann Karomoh will receive upgrades if Bonanno manages to perform well, and as seen with the FC Pro Live Renan Lodi and Donyell Malen, it is possible to receive two IF upgrades. That would see Karomoh go to 88-rated, and a strong item for the current items power curve.

Happy

Happy delivered under pressure at the FC Pro Open Global Qualifier as a 3-2 Swiss Stage finish saw him in two of the most dramatic lower bracket matches across the event. Defeat to AbuMakkah in the knockout rounds meant he was forced to come back from 4-3 down in extra time to win 11-10 on penalties against MUAE14 in the lower bracket, before Kylian Mbappe – who was one of the star items in Match Week One – produced a strong finish across goal to win in the last minute against JistenNSQ.

The LATAM North star has proven his ability to make clutch decisions when it matters, and that could be crucial in Match Week Two of the FC Pro Open with games decided by fine margins.

FC Pro Live Florian Thauvin will be represented by Happy in Match Week 2, providing a strong chance for some upgrades to a useful winger that has the finesse shot and technical playstyles.

Three matches to watch at the FC Pro Open - Match Week Two

FacuCowen vs Bonanno (20.50 BST)

One of the best matches of Match Week 2 will be the clash between two Argentinean stars. It is set to be a chess match between FacuCowen and Bonanno, who were both two of the top performers at the FC Pro Open Global Qualifier.

Bonanno enjoyed a plethora of strong results across last year’s title, including victory in the eLa Liga final while representing Real Betis and helping Argentina to a top eight finish in the FIFAe Nations Cup. He has since joined ePremier League side Manchester City.

Despite not having the same level of tournament winnings of Argentina international Bonanno, FacuCowen has shown he can compete among the best on FC24, and his momentum will be important to getting off to the best possible start in Group B.

Young vs Happy  (20.50 BST)

There is sure to be plenty of goals between Young and Happy as they prepare for a Swiss Stage rematch from the FC Pro Open Global Qualifier, but this time with much more at stake at the FC Pro Open.

Happy managed to secure the victory last time around with a 5-3 win, but after Young scored 21 goals in just three games across the knockout stage, this one could go either way as two international stars of Brazil and Mexico go head to head.

PHzin vs Young (18.50 BST)

One of the standout matches for FIFAe World Cup semi finalist PHzin will be when he comes up against international teammate Young.

These two players were on the same Brazil squad that won the FIFAe Nations Series 2023 in South America on the last title, PHzin winning back-to-back titles, and that could see an interesting game develop with two competitors familiar with each other's style of play.

PHZin was one of the four invited participants at this year’s FC Pro Open following his performances in the FIFAe World Cup, while Young made it through to the FC Pro Open with strong performances against Klinger and NEissaT14 in the knockout rounds.
