The final night of Group Stage action in this year's FC Pro Open did not disappoint, as four players in Group D went into the penultimate round of matches with a chance of reaching the Finals.
In the end, it was Levi de Weerd and Obrun who wrapped up qualification, although Man City star Tekkz was just a goal away from completing one of the greatest comebacks in Esports history.
Tekkz had finished Match Week 4 with just one point to his name, making his task of qualifying almost impossible heading into Round 6.
And yet, having registered a 9-0 win over The1OS in that round - overturning his -8 goal difference in an instant - it looked as if the comeback might just be on.
Elsewhere in Round 6, group leader Levi de Weerd took a decisive step towards reaching the Finals, beating rival Fouma to move six points clear of the Frenchman.
Things got even worse for Fouma in Round 7, as Tekkz earned a superb 6-2 win to keep pace with second-placed Obrun - who beat The1OS at the very same time.
In the following round, Levi de Weerd booked his place in the Finals, narrowly edging out Obrun 5-4 to keep Tekkz and Fouma's chances of qualifying alive.
The penultimate round of Group D promised fireworks, as superstars Tekkz and Obrun locked horns. Simply put, the Englishman couldn't afford to drop points, or his FC Pro Open dream would be over.
A classic contest soon unfolded as Tekkz's early lead was swiftly wiped out by Obrun, who went 3-1 up midway through the second half.
Goals in the 65th and 90th minute saw Tekkz earn a spirited draw, but it wasn't enough to keep his campaign alive - in spite of his very best efforts.
Instead, the draw set up a final-round decider between Fouma and Obrun, with the winner heading through to the Finals.
It was yet another tight contest, but Obrun showed his resilience by coming back from 3-2 down to win 4-3 thanks to an 84th-minute winner.
It was the perfect birthday present for the Italian, who turned 22 on Monday.
"I'm super happy, because I think that going forward in this group was hard, I'm so proud of myself," Obrun said at the end of the evening.
"I think we [me and Emre Yilmaz] never faced in a LAN tournament. It will be a great match for the viewers!"
Levi De Weerd added: "I'm just really happy I made the knockouts."
With Group D wrapped up, we now know the eight players who will battle it out for the inaugural FC Pro Open title this Saturday.
It begins with four star-studded Quarter-finals, which are:
Emre Yilmaz v Obrun
PHzin v AbuMakkah
Levi De Weerd v Umut
Vejrgang v Young
Levi De Weerd and Vejrgang will surely start the Finals as two of the big favourites, with the Dutchman winning six of his eight games, and Anders going unbeaten in Group C.
Should both superstars win their next matches, they will face each other in a blockbuster Semi-final for the ages.
Meanwhile, Obrun's route to the final could be blocked by PHzin in the Semis, who won Group B despite a late wobble.
As a reminder, extra-time and penalties will return if players can't be separated after 90 minutes. In addition, the four players who make the Semi-finals automatically qualify for this year's FC Pro World Championship.
