How to Customize Fighter Class Starfighters
The X-wing and TIE fighter belong to the versatile fighter class. Great for rookies and aces alike, fighter class starfighters are easy to handle and adaptable to multiple situations. Use components to modify your fighter’s performance and specialization. Get started with the two examples below, and once you get familiar with customization, make sure to experiment to find a loadout that works best for you.
How to Customize Fighter Loadout, Example 1 – “Flexible Ion Build”
- Starfighter: New Republic X-wing
- Primary weapon: Krupx JR-89 Ion Cannon
- Left auxiliary: Astromech Repair Droid
- Right auxiliary: ArMek Barrage Rockets
- Countermeasure: ArMek H/M Seeker Warheads
- Hull: Incom Ferroceramic Hull
- Shield: Sirplex Nimble Deflector
- Engine: Koensayr Microthrust Engine
An ion build suitable for many different situations. Capitalize on your quicker shield regeneration to perform flybys on capital ships, cutting through their shields with your Ion Cannon and then bombard them with Barrage Rockets. Use the Microthrust engine to more easily keep the enemy starfighters in your sights, quickly ionizing them and then destroying them with rockets.
How to Customize Fighter Loadout, Example 2 – “Anti-Capital Ship Build”
- Starfighter: Imperial TIE fighter
- Primary weapon: Sienar Burst Cannon
- Left auxiliary: Sienar KB-D28 Proton Torpedo
- Right auxiliary: Sienar Ion Torpedo
- Countermeasure: Sienar Sensor Jammer
- Hull: Sienar Dampener Hull
- Engine: Twin SLAM Engine
Convert the excess afterburner generated by your SLAM Engine into overcharged lasers and use your Burst Cannon to bully your way through defenders and get within torpedo range of the capital ship. Let your torpedos fly, boost out, and then repeat! Good for players confident in dogfights, who would like to deal decent capital ship damage without fully committing to a bomber run.
